Tyrannosaurus Rex was the most dangerous and blood-thirsty carnivore of all times. It grew to a length of 15 metres and weighted about 8 tons. It belongs to the genus of Theropodae and lived in the Creataceous Period 136 to 65 million years ago. Tyrannosaurus Rex was last carnivorous dinosaur; all dinosaurs became extinct towards the end of the Cretaceous Period. Walking on its powerfully developed hind limbs, it was able to take steps of up to 5 metres in length; but even so it could not have been very fast. Since the fore limbs would have been a hindrance in upright movements, they became rudimentary in the course of its development. Its main weapons of attack were the huge mouth full of large pointed teeth and the clawed hind limbs.
